The Chapel Designers Conference 2013

Last week Mary attended The Chapel Designers Conference in NYC! She has returned to St. John full of inspiration, ideas, creativity, and motivation to share all her knowledge!

It was the collaboration of many designers that helped make the conference so valuable. Some of the exciting designers Mary was able to chat with and learn from were David Beahm, Karen Tran, and Holly Chapple!

Below are the bouquets each of the designers created at the conference. Visit our facebook page for an up close photo of Mary’s fantastic creation! They were able to see David Beahm’s warehouse up close and personal as he gave tips on designing on a large-scale while Karen Tran gave the designers great tips on designing floral arrangements and tablescapes to really elevate your designs!

Mornings at Hawksnest

The lighting in the morning at Hawksnest Beach is absolutely beautiful! I captured some lovely photos of Katherine and Antony who were married last month.

Katherine and Antony were so sweet – and with a little one on the way…you could feel the love and excitement they have for their future together. So adorable!

The above photo is exactly why we love morning weddings on Hawksnest…we had the beach all to ourselves on this gorgeous morning. The nice thing about a morning wedding is also that you have the rest of the day to enjoy! Hawksnest also has pavilions for rent for those wishing to have a casual reception or Beach BBQ while savoring in the view and location.

Michelle and Chad’s Sunset Ceremony

Day Trip to The Baths

We have a lot of couples ask about things to do with their guests while they are here on St. John.

Yesterday, I was able to go to The Baths on Virgin Gorda with my sister…and it truly is an incredible site to see! The Baths are giant  boulder formations along the water’s edge of Virgin Gorda, creating  unique caves and pools of crystal clear water  to snorkel, swim, and wander through.

Here are a few photos I took from our trip…enjoy!

Your boat will anchor in as close as they can to shore so you can jump off and swim into the beach. There is a dock on the other side of the island if the water is too rough to swim in. Then you can take a taxi to get to The Baths.

Here is a photo of my sister walking through one of the boulders…most of the time you are squatting and bending over to make it through from area to area within the boulder formations. There are steps and ropes to guide you through small tricky spots.

ISW Celebrates 11 Years!

Cheers to Island Style Weddings this week…We are celebrating our 11 year anniversary! It’s so wonderful when we have couples come back to us for a vow renewal ceremony… keep us in mind if you are thinking about renewing your vows in paradise. It is always so great to be able to keep in touch with our couples through the years – cheers to another great year for ISW!
